Abstract

Resumo: Este artigo apresenta um recorte da minha tese de doutorado que analisou as inter-relações entre práticas musicais de grupos da cultura popular e o atual cenário das políticas culturais desenvolvidas no município de Januária, localizado no estado de Minas Gerais. O escopo desse trabalho compreende algumas das abordagens teóricas que embasaram as reflexões da tese, focando, principalmente, em perspectivas da Etnomusicologia no que diz respeito aos estudos sobre políticas culturais e suas interseções com as práticas musicais da cultura popular. As análises realizadas no texto têm como base um estudo bibliográfico que abordou produções em Etnomusicologia, Antropologia, Políticas Culturais e Sociologia. A partir dessas análises fica evidente que as novas concepções e as recentes abordagens de investigação científica no campo dos estudos etnomusicológicos, em especial, ampliam a sua percepção sobre o fenômeno musical, assumindo novas interpretações acerca da música. Por conseguinte, é possível pensar o território das políticas culturais como um dos seus importantes campos de atuação. Assim, as discussões tratadas nesse artigo poderão contribuir, de forma significativa, não apenas para a produção de conhecimento no campo acadêmico, mas também aos processos de formulação, implantação e avaliação de políticas culturais para as culturas populares. Abstract: This article presents a review of my doctoral thesis, which analyzed the interrelationships between musical practices of groups of popular culture and the current situation of cultural policies developed in Januária, located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The scope of this work encompasses some of the theoretical approaches underlying the thesis's reflections, focusing mainly on the perspectives of ethnomusicology with regard to studies on cultural policies and their intersections with the musical practices of popular culture. The analyzes carried out in the text are based on a bibliographical study that approached productions in Ethnomusicology, Anthropology, Cultural Policies and Sociology. From these analyzes it is evident that the new conceptions and the recent approaches of scientific investigation in the field of the ethnomusicology studies, in particular, amplify their perception on the musical phenomenon, assuming new interpretations on the music. It is therefore possible to think of the territory of cultural policies as one of its important fields of activity. Thus, the discussions dealt with in this article may contribute, not only to the production of knowledge in the academic field, but also to the processes of formulation, implementation and evaluation of cultural policies for popular cultures.
