Abstract
The performance of the compressor varies depending on the ambient environment in which the compressor is located in the refrigerator. The performance of the compressor varies depending on the presence or absence of the cooling fan, in particular. In this study, the convective heat transfer coefficient of the compressor shell surface is calculated numerically with varying the speed of the fan in the refrigerator machine room. The results show that the convective heat transfer coefficient of the compressor surface changes to about 4 ~ 10 W / m 2 K depending on the presence or absence of the cooling fan. This change of the convective heat transfer coefficient can reduce the compressor superheat up to about 7 K.
