Abstract

PRESENTATION One of the most pressing issues of our time is sustainability. Since 1992, the University of Sonora has promoted sustainability and encouraged climate friendly behaviors inside and outside the university. Because of these fruitful efforts, the university has been considered an international icon of sustainability. This e-book represents the highpoint of these efforts. I really hope that by reading this e-book, students will gain knowledge about how to foster and develop stewardships around sustainability. One of the issues that is especially interesting and timely in this e-book is its multidisciplinary approach to the issue of sustainability. The chapters in this e-book were written by the leading scholars on sustainability from around the world. For this, I cannot thank them enough. As a former Rector of the University of Sonora, it is a pleasure to have made this International Sustainability Stories e-book available free. This e-book is essential reading for the entire sustainability science community as well as to bachelor and graduate students interested in learning about and taking actionable steps toward sustainability.
