Abstract
The aim of the research is the lexical and semantic relations identification of similarities and differences in both versions of Jack London's work "The People of the Abyss" in English and Russian. The scientific novelty of the article is the classification and commentaries on words, phrases, metaphors and phraseological units in both texts. Continuous selection of lexical units from the texts of the work, comparative and statistical analysis methods were used, which allowed identifying discrepancies between the English and Russian versions of words and phrases. As a result, tables and diagrams based on the obtained data were systematized.
