This study was aimed to investigate the correlation between general health, emotional intelligence and academic achievement together on midwifery students. Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was performed by census of all midwifery students who are studying in Islamic Azad University of Rasht in the second semester of academic year 2012-2013. Data was gathered using a questionnaire which included three parts: personal information, the questions about general health status based on General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) and Sharing emotional intelligence. Results: The mean score of emotional intelligence and general health among students was 50.53±14.29 and 22.85±11.22, respectively. The majority of students (60%) were in perfect health. There was no significant relationship between total score of general health, emotional intelligence with score of academic achievement (P>0.05), but there was a significant relationship between total score of general health and emotional intelligence among midwifery students. (r=0.19, P=0.01). Conclusion: With regard to the findings of the present study, there is a positive correlation between the components of emotional intelligence and general health like social function, distress, and anxiety which can improve the educational level. So, it is necessary to take proper planning for promotion of emotional intelligence in students to preserve general health.}, author={Namazi and Alizadeh and S}, year={2015} }
