The coordinating power of these phenolic compounds was in the order hydroquinone&gt; 4-nitrophenol&gt; phenol = 4-aminosalicylic acid&gt; 4-chlorophenol =pyrogallol= pyrocatechol =<em> o</em>-cresol =salicylic acid= 4-sulphosalicylic acid&gt; \(\propto\)-naphthol&gt; alizarin.},
