Abstract

The current thesis work dealt with the successful evaluation of effect of embelin against epilepsy induced memory dysfunctions in zebrafish. The embelin was found to modulate various genes and biochemicals responsible to improve the memory status after epileptic seizures. These research findings suggest that embelin could be a promising molecule for epilepsy induced learning and memory dysfunction. The zebrafish was successfully used as a promising animal model to develop studies related to seizures and can be considered the better option for screening new drug compounds. Further investigations of can strengthen the successful utilization of embelin to treat human epilepsy seizures.
