Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> A model is proposed for determining the relative proportions of <jats:sup>16</jats:sup>O and <jats:sup>18</jats:sup>O in large ice sheets. Values calculated using this model are in agreement with published values for Antarctica and Greenland. It is intended to use the model for comparisons between the known ocean isotopie records and postulated ice-sheet masses during the last ice age.
