Abstract
In the summer of 2009 I spent three months at The Manitoba HVDC Research Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, where I worked in cooperation with Dr. Jeewantha Da Silva on analysing the deviation between field measurements and simulation results when explicitly exciting the modes. Furthermore during this stay I worked on the cable model improvements, which are one of the major contributions in my research work. The work resulted in two papers. One for the IEEE PES GM 2010, co-authored by myself, Dr. Da Silva and my supervisors. The other for IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, authored by myself and my supervisors.
